Overview
The Brass Ball Valve is designed for quick and reliable on-off isolation in water supply, plumbing, HVAC, irrigation, compressed air, and general utility systems.
The valve uses a quarter-turn ball with a through bore to control the medium. When fully open, the bore aligns with the pipeline and provides a straight flow passage with low pressure loss. The brass body, compact threaded construction, and lever operation make it suitable for frequent and convenient shut-off service.
Product Advantages
● Fast 90-degree opening and closing
● Compact and lightweight construction
● Reliable shut-off performance
● Low operating torque
● Low pressure loss when fully open
● Simple installation and maintenance
● Suitable for frequent isolation service
Technical Specifications
Size Range
● NPS 1/4\”–4\” (DN8–DN100)
Pressure Rating
● PN10 / PN16 for EN 13828 building water-supply configurations
The rated pressure decreases as operating temperature increases. The pressure–temperature rating must be confirmed for the actual application.
Standards
● Design and Performance: EN 13828:2025 for applicable manually operated building water-supply ball valves
● Inspection and Testing: EN 12266-1
● Thread Connection: ISO 228-1
● Optional Thread Standards: ISO 7-1 or ASME B1.20.1 NPT upon request
● Gas-Service Option: EN 331 only when specifically designed, tested, and approved for gas service
A standard water-service brass ball valve should not automatically be treated as an EN 331 gas valve.
Industry Applications
● Domestic and commercial water supply
● Building plumbing
● HVAC water circulation
● Agricultural irrigation
● Water treatment auxiliary systems
● Compressed air pipelines
● General utility systems
Suitability for drinking water, gas, oil, steam, or chemical media should be confirmed according to the brass grade, seat and seal materials, pressure, temperature, and required approvals.
FAQs
1. Should I choose full port or standard port?
Full port keeps the bore the same size as the pipe, so pressure loss is minimal when the valve is open. Standard port has a smaller bore and is usually the lower-cost option. Choose full port where flow capacity matters, and standard port where it doesn’t.
2. Can I use it to throttle flow?
Not well. A ball valve is designed for fast on/off isolation, and holding it partly open for long periods is not what it is built for. If you need to adjust flow, the Brass Globe Valve is the better fit.
3. Can I install it on a gas line?
Only if the valve has been specifically designed, tested and approved for gas service under EN 331. A standard water-service brass ball valve should not automatically be treated as a gas valve, so please tell us the medium when you enquire.
4. Is PN16 always PN16?
No. The rated pressure falls as the operating temperature rises, so the PN figure on its own is not enough. Check the pressure–temperature rating against your actual operating conditions before you specify the valve.
5. What if I need flanged ends or a size above DN100?
This model is threaded and goes up to DN100. For flanged connections and sizes up to DN200, look at the Floating Ball Valve.
